This is a groupsite for crowdsourcing (co-developed by supporting participants) the April 24 and May 15 NYCOM seminar sessions on crowdsourced placemaking - building great places via sourcing the most creative constituents that in turn utilize viral marketing to ensure its success.  The vision for this specific component of the seminar is:

• train and network municipal officials and economic development professionals in innovative and efficient, ways to develop vibrant communities;
• encourage our audience to work together to regionally promote their areas;
• educate our attendees about the importance of responding to their community's needs, such as civic tourism, public spaces, heritage, affordable housing, and arts;
• promote initiatives that support local, independent businesses; and
• consider appropriate environmental methods when conducting economic development activities.

There are two steps to participate:
1. Read this brief graphics-oriented document on crowdsourced placemaking.
2. Email Lynn at NYCOM your interest in learning more about how this program could help your city.

The diagram below illustrates how this will work. The balance icons represent stable, readjusting loops, while the snowball icons represents a growing, reinforcing loop, and the ultimate goal.
